Debbie Shiell is the Chief Executive Officer of Ovarian Cancer Australia (OCA), the national organisation dedicated to supporting people affected by ovarian cancer, leading national efforts in support, advocacy and awareness.

Debbie brings over 20 years’ experience across the not-for-profit and health sectors, including senior leadership roles at organisations such as Austin Health Foundation, Monash Health Foundation and the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation. She has a strong track record in philanthropy, strategy and stakeholder engagement, and is known for her collaborative approach and commitment to improving outcomes for people navigating complex health challenges.

Before joining Ovarian Cancer Australia, Debbie was the Founder and Director of LOHK Consulting, where she provided leadership coaching and strategic advice across communications, philanthropy and organisational culture.

In her role as CEO, Debbie is guiding OCA through an important period of evolution, as the organisation begins the journey to extend its services beyond ovarian cancer to support women facing all gynaecological cancers. This work builds on 25 years of experience and impact, while maintaining OCA’s deep and unwavering commitment to the ovarian cancer community.

Under Debbie’s leadership, OCA continues to deliver vital national support services, including the Teal Support Program, which connects every woman with a specialist ovarian cancer nurse and expert psychologist from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.

Debbie is a passionate advocate for amplifying the voices of those affected by cancer, working alongside community, partners and government to drive meaningful change for person-centred care. She is a strong voice on women’s health and improving outcomes across the cancer care continuum.
