Dr Nicole Campbell is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow whose research focuses on defining the role of the unique type I interferon, interferon-ε (IFNε), in cancer immunity. In 2019 she joined Prof Paul Hertzog’s group at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research where she established IFNε as a novel tumour suppressor and therapeutic candidate in ovarian cancer. Dr Campbell now leads a research team at the Hudson Institute investigating the immunological activities of IFNε, the distinctive mechanisms that regulate its expression, and its potential translation as a novel cancer immunotherapy.
