As Director of Research, Cancer Council Queensland, Prof Hayes leads a comprehensive cancer research program that spans cancer epidemiology, prevention, detection, treatment and survivorship. Hayes’s specific expertise in cancer relates to understanding the impact of a cancer diagnosis and treatment on physical and psychosocial wellbeing, quality of life and survival, as well as evaluating innovative supportive care strategies (with an emphasis on exercise) to improve lives after cancer.
