Getting There
Tākina is located in Wellington CBD’s cultural precinct, within easy walking distance of key transport links, entertainment and dining options, and thousands of accommodation rooms.
Wellington is ideally located in the middle of Aotearoa New Zealand, providing easy access via air, road, train, or even ferry. Wellington Airport is a hub for domestic flights and only a short direct flight from Australia’s east coast.
The trip from the airport to the city – 15 minutes – will be the longest commute visitors will have during their stay in Wellington.
Airport Shuttle Service
The most convenient way to get from Wellington Airport to Takina is by using an airport shuttle service. Several shuttle companies operate at the airport and offer shared rides to various locations in Wellington, including Takina. You can book a shuttle at the airport or make a reservation in advance. Look for signs or ask airport staff for shuttle service information.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available at the airport taxi stand. Simply follow the signs to the taxi rank, and a taxi will take you directly to your destination in Takina. Make sure to choose a reputable taxi service and ask for an estimated fare before starting your journey.
Uber or Ride-Sharing Services
Uber and other ride-sharing services are also available at Wellington Airport. You can use the respective app on your smartphone to request a ride. Enter your destination as Takina, and the driver will take you there.
Airport Buses
There is an Airport Flyer bus service that connects the airport to the central city and several suburbs. You can take this bus to Wellington Railway Station and then proceed to Takina by train or bus if needed.
The Metlink Route 2 bus is a regular bus service. It travels through the city to Seatoun. It will take you within 7 minutes (around 700m) walk of the airport. The Hobart Street at Broadway Stop 7033 is the closest to the airport. Once on the bus you will travel for 25-30 minutes on the bus and depart on Courtenay Place & Stop C.

Tākina is located directly across both Readings on Wakefield and Barnett Street car park. Parking is available all-day Monday-Sunday at Readings on Wakefield and Monday-Saturday at Barnett Street.
