Professor Dr Vaikunthan Rajaratnam is a Senior Consultant Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgeon at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Singapore, and an active researcher at the intersection of generative AI, health professions education and clinical practice. Trained in surgery, medical education, instructional design and AI, he serves as Programme Director for Instructional Design and AI for Healthcare Professionals at NHG College and as a UNESCO Chair partner with APU. He designs and delivers AI competency programmes for educators and clinicians, integrating ethics, governance and workflow redesign. His work focuses on context engineering, responsible AI adoption and democratising access to AI-enabled learning.
